This style of clock is technically known as a tambour, referring to the drum shaped center supported by two wings flaring out to the sides. They are often called camelbacks or Napoleon hat clocks, for obvious reasons.
New Haven made a few different styles of the tambour. This example has a beautifully aged lacquer finish with the crackling that can only be had with years of aging.
The clock runs well and keeps good time. It runs for 8 days on a full winding, and strikes a gong once on the half hour and counts the hours.
The original label is still on the bottom of the case and is in excellent condition.
